We understand the enormous difficulties that families face trying to find competent and safe caregivers to meet their family’s needs and we are here to help make it easier. Putting the safety of a helpless child or the vulnerability of an elderly parent foremost, we have designed a screening process that is aimed at attracting the best possible candidates.
Our candidates undergo a rigorous pre-screening and interview process before being entered in our database. We stand by our policy that we will never refer anyone we deem not suitable to work in our own homes.
Because we require so much from our candidates they enjoy the rewards of being linked with families that appreciates the value of a considerate and qualified care-giver.
Our 7 Step Screening Process:
- Telephone interview: We conduct a pre-screening interview call with each candidate to get insight into their personality and work experience.
- Face-to-face interview: This is a critical part of our screening process because meeting a candidate in person allows us to better examine the individual, their body language and to understand more about them as a person. Surprisingly, these days more and more agencies do not require a face-to-face interview. This is outright irresponsible.
- Photograph: It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words and we believe this. Each candidate accepted is photographed in our office and a picture of them is placed in the family’s file for them to view along with the candidate’s other credentials.
- DMV check: (Department of Motor Vehicles) Many care-giver positions require driving. As a result we conduct a thorough DMV check to ensure that the candidate has a clean driving record. These records can give us insight into how responsible the candidate is.
- Sex predator check: We leave nothing to chance and because some of the care-givers are going to be working with children, we conduct a thorough check to ensure that the candidate is not in the national sex predator database.
- Criminal background check: An important feature of our screening process is to conduct a local and national criminal background check on the candidate before any family hires that candidate. It is imperative in today’s world to know exactly who is being entrusted to care for your most vulnerable family members.
- Social Security verification & reference check: In order to verify the identity of an individual and citizenship we conduct a social security verification trace. Another important aspect of our pre-screening process is to interview the references of the candidate over the phone. The families can also verify the references themselves.
